I've had a great month enjoying the summer and celebrating my big birthday! I have lots more one-year-old photos to show you, but first here's an update on some of the things I've been doing lately.
This month I got to go on a special date, just me and Daddy! Daddy had a work event at Prospector's (a country-western themed place) and I got to go with him. I got all dressed up for our date.
Here I am with Daddy. This cowgirl had a great time! I was on my best behavior, of course. ;)
I also got to celebrate my Daddy for Father's Day! Here's a picture I took to show my Daddy how much I admire him.
And here is a special video tribute I made for my Daddy.
I went to visit my Grandparents at Lake Isaac in Virginia twice this month! Here are some pictures from my first visit.
We got to celebrate my Aunt Kelli's birthday while I was there. You know what that means... cake!
(Psst - Some of these junk food pictures were taken just to get a rise out of Daddy. I'll let you guess which ones! In all seriousness, I am a great eater. I love ANY food, but I especially love chicken, bread, pasta, and asparagus.)
I also got to celebrate my Grandmom's sixtieth birthday this month! Here's a picture of me and Grandmom and my cousins.
I have been spending a lot of time swimming this summer! I just love splashing around in the water. Here are some photos of me enjoying some time, poolside.
And of course, Mommy and I have taken lots of walks. Here is a picture of a bunny we saw while walking one afternoon. I think he is my stuffed bunny (BunBun's) cousin.
I can't nap without BunBun!
I'm starting to get really attached to lots of my other toys, too. Here is my favorite furry friend, Uno. He is a stuffed poodle that I got for my birthday. Every time I see him, I give him lots of hugs and kisses.
I also like kissing my blue bear. See?
Of course, if there aren't any toys around, I'm content just hanging around and sucking my toes.
Or grooving to music with Daddy...
Or being silly with Mommy.
Sometimes, Mommy and I even go on fun shopping trips! Here are some pictures from our big trip to Old Navy for Dollar Flip Flop Day. We got there right when the store opened, at 7 am! This is our special tradition, because we went last year, too, when I was in Mommy's belly. This year, I got to help shop from the outside. See?
We were only there for flip flops, but I convinced Mommy to get these great shorts, too - because they match my flamingo romper! Plus, they were on sale. (I just love a good sale!)
But how to find a good sale isn't the only thing I've learned this month. I have also been learning about colors. (Sometimes, learning about colors can be a little bit messy.)
I've learned about shapes, too! I can usually recognize circles, moons, and hearts.
Speaking of hearts, I also learned that I can keep God's word like a treasure in my heart.
I've been learning a lot about books, too. I signed up for the baby reading program at my library, which is right next to a BRAND NEW PARK! I love exploring the new park and visiting the library.
I guess I'm learning so much because I'm growing REALLY fast! Which brings me to my birthday celebrations! I'm such a lucky girl that I got to have two big celebrations: One with my family in Virginia and one with my family in New Jersey. I really like poodles, and sometimes Mommy and Daddy call me Poodle, so I got to have a Poodle Party!
My Virginia party started out with a great breakfast! My Grammy made me a Poodle Pancake.
Of course, we spent some time hanging out by the lake. This is the same lake where Daddy and Mommy got engaged, AND had their wedding reception! What a special place.
The day ended with one of Poppy's patented bonfires and s'mores. (I fell asleep for that part, though.) It was the perfect end to the perfect day!
The very next week, I got to do it all again with my New Jersey family! See what a lucky girl I am?
I even had three GREAT grandparents at my party!
I loved everything about my parties. Well, except for one thing. It makes me sad when people sing "Happy Birthday" to me. I make this face...
Here is a video of my Happy Birthday sad face:
I'm not sure why it makes me sad, but you know what? It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!

Other than that, having a birthday is awesome! This morning, I woke up to an exciting surprise - a princess rocker and car!
I had a blast playing with my new riding toy.
And if you can believe it, Mommy took even MORE special birthday pictures of me. See?
Even though I'm one now, I plan to keep blogging every month. Since I'm growing so fast, it's a great way to remember all of my big milestones and favorite moments. Plus, I didn't even get to update you on all of the new things I say, like "Arf", "Moo", and "I like that." But here's a quick video of me saying "Hi, Daddy."
I wish I could show you more, but I'm out of time for now, because we're off for a special outing to celebrate my big day!
Until next month,
Estie
