I am 22 months old now, which makes me about a month late on my blog. Part of the reason I'm late is because life has been pretty busy for my little family. But mostly I'm late because I'm busy! I'm a lot to keep up with, you know. Seems I'm always running somewhere these days...
Oh, that's right! It's been so long since my last update that I forgot to tell you. I learned to walk! Here is a video Mommy made of my first few steps.
Play Video: Estie Walking
Now that I can walk, I love exploring the world around me even more!
I am crazy about balls...
(Watch this, Mommy!)
I also love things I can ride in/on.
And of course I love playing with anything I can snuggle.
Toys are great, but I love real animals even more! Here I am hanging out with my neighbor dog and best friend, Sunni.
These days, I also like playing dress up. I insist on wearing my sunglasses a lot...
Sometimes even just because it's breakfast time!
I also adore costumes...
jewelry...
and shoes...
Once I even convinced Mommy to let me put a roller in my hair.
I am generally very fancy. Here I am all dressed up and ready to go out:
(That last picture was on Valentine's Day, when I had my first overnight sleepover at my Aunt Kelli and Uncle Andy's house.)
Once I'm all dressed up, some of my favorite places to go are the aquarium...
The indoor play center...
The park...
And just about anywhere outside!
When I'm not going out, I like to relax at home in my p.j.'s and be silly.
I am learning a ton of new things lately!
I know how to count in English and Spanish.
(I learned how to count in Spanish because I really like Dora the Explorer. Maybe a little too much... Here I am pretending to be Swiper the Fox.)
I've also learned my colors! That's because I just love to color.
I've learned to sing a lot of songs, too. I started out singing parts of songs, like this:
And before I knew it, I was singing whole songs by myself! Here is a mini-concert of mine:
And here I am singing "Jesus Loves Me".
I know the alphabet, too!
I'm even learning what I do and don't like. For instance, I do NOT like to be called Esther!
I am a toddler, after all, so I have a lot of opinions of what I do and don't like. Sometimes I get grumpy...
... but for the most part I'm a happy girl.
Here are some things that make me extra happy:
Eating!
Sleeping!
And Daddy! Daddy makes me especially happy.
I'll always be Daddy's baby, even though I'm starting to become a big girl. I sometimes use the potty now:
(This picture will in no way embarrass me later in life, I'm sure.)
I also got to have my first movie night recently! (But I only watched part of the movie.)
It has been a really fun month, full of celebrations! First, we celebrated Easter. We started by learning all about the Easter story using these eggs Mommy made.
Then we went to Virginia to celebrate:
My favorite part was hanging out with my cousins.
They're just my speed, 'cause I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie...
Plus, I love hunting for things! So I really enjoyed doing an egg hunt with them.
After Easter, we celebrated being a family on a little getaway to Cape May, NJ. I called this our "cation".
We went to the park, the zoo, and just walked around town and on the beach. I especially loved looking at the ocean and playing in the fountains. (But I refused to throw any money in there, because a penny saved is a penny earned!)
Mommy and Daddy even took me out to a fancy restaurant while we were on vacation. It was called The Black Duck, and let's just say they do not serve chicken fingers. Everyone seemed a little nervous, but I behaved like a true princess. See?
After our vacation, it was time to celebrate Mother's Day. Naturally, I celebrated by doing all of the cooking and laundry.
Just kidding! But I did stand still for this photo with Mommy.
And I did our funny faces at bath time. (That's Mommy's favorite!)
So I guess you could say it was a special day.
Boy, I've been sitting still for way too long. Time to skedaddle - see you for my two year update!
Love,
Estie (not Esther)
